Nordlys - Overo Thoroughbred Stallion

Dark brown frame overo stallion by I Was Framed out of And I who is a daughter of Inchinor, owned by Stall Fighting Spirit. He was bred in th U.K. but was sold to Norway as a yearling. Nordlys has been racing in Norway, where he has been handled by one of Scandinavia`s most accomplished thoroughbred trainers, HaIlvard Soma. Overo Thoroughbred Stallion

He has been a very durable, sound and tough performer, with 2 wins and 7 placings from 36 starts but we are not selling him on as a racehorse. Now aged seven, he deserves to hang up his racing plates and enjoy life in another way. Nordlys has the pedigree and the right conformation to become a stallion, like his father, but he could easily fill other roles.

A successful stallion - A lovely riding horse - A four legged, flashy actor Nordlys stands 167 cm. He really is a unique horse, and he has become very special to us. A horse who always tries to please, he has been a pleasure to be around, he is very unusual and many have called him flashy. That, he certainly is. Of course, he catches the eye with his unusual looks but there is a lot more to this horse. He has a wonderful character and plenty of charisma too, and it would seem likely that he would pass these qualities on to his offspring, were he to become a stallion.

Nordlys gained his two wins over 2160 metres and 2400 metres (10.5 furlongs to 12 furlongs), both on the turf course at Ovrevoll racecourse outside Oslo, where he was also placed second or third over distances in the same distance bracket (on turf and dirt).
